Resumo: The pods of the “faveira” tree, Dimorphandra mollis Benth, were given orally to three groups of three pregnant cows each. The period of pregnancy were around 90, 150 and 210 days. The cows received 10 to 12 g/kg of the poas per kg body weight, to see if the plant causes abortion. None of the cows aborted, but all the cows which have ingested 12 g of the pods per kg body weight showed symptoms of poisoning and two of them died.

Administrou-se a fava da “faveira” Dimorphandra mollis Benth, às vacas em gestação com 90, 150 e 210 dias, na dosagem de 10 e 12 g/kg de peso, com a finalidade de verificar se a planta induzia ao aborto.
