Resumo: Fructose and citric acid rates were determined in semen samples from 25 Bos indicus bulls (Nelore breed). The results were: 1) the 30 months old Nelore bulls had fructose values of 252.69 mg/100 ml of semen and citric acid of 166.0 mg/l00 ml of semen; 2) the 4-7 year old Nelore bulls showed fructose values of 259.05 mg/l00 ml of semen and citric acid of 165,57/100 ml of semen. Significant differences (P < 0,05) were not determined among both groups values of fructose and citric acid, concluding also that alimentary factor had no interference with obtained rates.

Foram analisados sêmens, colhidos por eletroejaculação, de 25 touros Bos indicus, da raça Nelore, de diferentes idades, mantidos em distintos regimes de alimentação, quanto aos seus teores de frutose e ácido cítrico, encontrando-se os seguintes valores médios: 1 - para o grupo de animais com até 30 meses de idade: a) frutose 252,69 mg/100 ml de sêmen e b) ácido cítrico 166,00/100 ml de sêmen; II - para o grupo de animais variando de 4 a 7 anos de idade: a) frutose - 259,05 mg/100 ml de sêmen, e b) ácido cítrico: 163,57 mg/100 ml de sêmen.
