Resumo: A trial to control of the tomato leafminer Scrobipaupula absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) was carried out in Goiânia, Goiás State, Brazil, using a new insecticide growth regulator the flufenoxuron, with dosages of 100 and 200g a.i./ha confronted with teflubenzuron, with dosages of 100 and 200g a.i./ha permethrin with dosage of 100 a.i./ha and untreated check. Estimations were done at 4, 7, 11 and 14 days after applications. The results obtained by this test showed that flufenoxuron was highly efficient in controlling the tomato leafminer till 14 days after treatment applications.

Para controle da traça do tomateiro, S. absoluta, avaliou-se a eficiência de um novo inseticida regulador de crescimento, o flufenoxuron (CASCADE 50) nas dosagens de 100 e 200g i.a./ha, em comparação com outro regulador de crescimento: o teflubenzuron (NOMOLT 15 SC) nas dosagens de 100 e 200g i.a./ha, um piretróide: a permetrina (TALCORD 250) na dosagem de 100g i.a./ha e a testemunha. O experimento foi conduzido em uma propriedade rural do município de Goiânia, no período de 22/04 a 02/06/88. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso com 4 repetições. Cada parcela constituiu-se de 2 linhas de tomateiro da cultivar Kadá, contendo 20 plantas, com aproximadamente 25.000 plantas por hectare. As avaliações foram realizadas aos 4, 7, 11 e 14 dias após as aplicações dos tratamentos.
