Resumo: The Thrips tabaci (Lind. 1888) is known as an important pest of garlic plants in many regions in Brazil. In order to determine the efficiency of the Netacyfluthrin 125 SC and Protiophos 500 CE to control Thrips tabaci, a field experiment was carried out in Goiânia, State of Goiás, Brazil. The treatments and dosage of the products per hectare were: Betacyfluthrin (3.125 and 6.25g a.i/ha); Protiophos (125.0 and 250.0g a.i.) confronted with Deltamethrin (3.75g a.i/ha.) and untreated check. Evaluations were made at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days after treatment applications, sampling 4 plants in each repetition and counting number of inphs of thrips found per plant. The results showed that Betacyfluthrin was the best insecticide showing a control efficiency about 91%, at greater dosages, until 21 days after treatment applications.

Para determinar a eficiência dos inseticidas protiophós (tokuthion 500 CE) nas dosagens de 50 e 100 ml do produto comercial/100 litros de água (125 e 250g i.a/ha); betacyfluthrin bulldock 125 SC) nas dosagens de 5,0 e 10,0m1/100 litros de água (3,125 e 6,25g i.a/ha), comparado com a deltametrina (decis 25 CE) na dosagem de 30ml/100 litros de água (3,75g i.a/ha) no controle do T. tabaci na cultura do alho, instalou-se um experimento no campo da Escola de Agronomia/UFG, aplicando-se os diversos produtos em pulverizações e gastando-se 500 litros de calda de inseticida por ha. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso, com 6 tratamentos em 4 repetições. As avaliações foram realizadas nos 3°, 7°, 14° e 21° dias após a aplicação dos inseticidas.
