Resumo: The greenhouse study was carried out at Escola de Agronomia e Engenharia de Alimentos – Universidade Federal de Goiás, Brazil, to evaluate increasing levels of soil liming on Heterodera glycines population developing on soybean roots. The full dose of liming was determined in order to increase the base saturation up to 50%. The treatments were: control (no liming), half dose (0.675 t.ha-1), full dose (1.35 t.ha-1), double dose (2.7 t.ha-1), and triple dose (4.05 t.ha-1). The experimental design was completely randomized with five treatments and six replications. Each pot was planted with the cultivar FT-Cristalina and inoculated with 4,000 eggs. The number of H. glycines females on soybean roots, and cysts/100 cm3 were evaluated. The number of females was reduced as liming doses increased up to 3.03 t.ha-1, showing quadratic response. The number of cysts reduced linearly as liming doses were reduced. KEY-WORDS: Cyst nematode; soil management; liming.

Este estudo foi conduzido sob condições de estufa de produção, visando avaliar o efeito de doses crescentes de calcário, sobre a população do nematóide Heterodera glycines em raízes de soja. Tomando como base a recomendação de calcário para elevar a saturação de bases para 50%, adotaram-se cinco tratamentos: testemunha (sem calcário); metade da dose recomendada (0,675 t.ha-1); dose recomendada (1,35 t.ha-1); dobro da recomendação (2,7 t.ha-1); e triplo da recomendação (4,05 t.ha-1). O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado com seis repetições. O ensaio foi conduzido em vasos usando como planta hospedeira a soja, cultivar FT-Cristalina, e inoculando-se 4.000 ovos de H. glycines por vaso. Foram avaliados o número fêmeas nas raízes e o número de cistos/100 cm3 de solo. Os resultados mostraram que o número de fêmeas diminuiu à medida que se aumentaram as doses de calcário, até a dose de 3,039 t.ha-1, segundo uma resposta quadrática significativa. O número de cistos no solo reduziu linearmente à medida que foram aumentadas as doses de calcário.
