Resumo: To evaluate the effects of phosphate rates and sources in a LV (red yellow latosol) and a LE (dark red latosol)(Oxisols) under cerrado vegetation, soybean was grown for three consecutive years with and without liming. Triple superphosphate (SFT), Yoorin thermophosphate (TFY), and Catalão apatite (AC), with 48.4, 17.6 and 37.8% of P2O5 (insoluble in citric acid 2%), respectively, were used. Under SFT and TFY soybean yields in the limed treatments were found equivalent. Due to its basic reaction, TFY showed higher yields in both unlimed soils as compared to SFT. Soil acidity did not release phosphorous from AC along three years. The estimated Mitscherlich equation coefficients employed to predict soybeans yields as a function of applied phosphorus rates permit reliable interpretations only in the absence of limiting factors, such as soil acidity. KEY-WORDS: Oxisol; soil acidity; phosphate; solubility; residual effect.

KEY-WORDS: Oxisol; soil acidity; phosphate; solubility; residual effect.
