Resumo: Studies concerning bovine digital dermatitis showed a moderate to severe presence of eosinophils at histopathologic exams, but the cause still a speculation. The aim of this study was observe and quantify the eosinophilia in digital lesions in different stages of the disease. Forty female bovine were allocated in four groups with ten animals each, whereas the GI were healthy animals; GII, animals in initial stage of the disease: GIII, animals with erosive lesions; and GIV, animals with papillomatous lesions. The histologic exam showed local and diffuse eosinophilic infiltrated in the lesions, mainly in papillary dermis and the infiltrated was proportional to the lesion degree of the animals. KEY WORDS: Cattle, digital disease, eosinophils, histopathology.
