Resumo: The possibility of a formal semantic theory explaining themeaning expansion phenomena inherent to the differentiation of meaninglexical meanings and the validity of a “division of labor” between theorysemantics and pragmatic theory that can, alternatively, account for them.These are questions about the delimitability of lexical meaning, itsindependence or not in the face of cognition and historical-cultural crystallization factsof meanings, as well as their translatability through parameterselementary and finite.
