Resumo: The present article, based on a critical and biographical study,brings reflections on the production of the Paraguayan poet HéribCampos Cervera, related to melancholy as a psychoanalytic constructand literary product. The text is anchored in discussions around exile(SAID, 2003), biography and biographical criticism (ARFUCH, 2010;SOUZA, 2005, 2011), melancholy (FREUD, 2006; KRISTEVA, 1989), and memory (DERRIDA, 2001). In summary, we carefully examined thestudies in Cervera’s biographical and intellectual dimensions through thepostulates of psychoanalysis in order to understand the role of grief andmelancholy in the two mentioned poles, life, and work.

El texto se ancla en discusiones sobre el exilio (SAID, 2003), labiografía y la crítica biográfica (ARFUCH, 2010; SOUZA, 2005, 2011),la melancolía (FREUD, 2006; KRISTEVA, 1989) y la memoria (DERRIDA,2001). Profundizamos los estudios en las dimensiones biográfica eintelectual de Cervera a través de los postulados del psicoanálisis, conmiras a comprender el papel del duelo y la melancolía en los dos polosmencionados, vida y obra.O presente artigo, baseado em estudo crítico e biográfico, trazreflexões acerca da produção do poeta paraguaio Hérib Campos Cerverarelacionada à melancolia, enquanto constructo psicanalítico e produtoliterário. O texto está ancorado nas discussões em torno do exílio (SAID,2003), da biografia e da crítica biográfica (ARFUCH, 2010; SOUZA, 2005,2011), da melancolia (FREUD, 2006; KRISTEVA, 1989) e da memória (DERRIDA, 2001).
