Resumo: | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the discourse of Eugène Delacroix’s screen, La Liberté guidant le peuple, painted in 1830. For our analysis, we seek support in the Discourse Analysis. Through analysis, we show how the visual signs are organized within a context of revolution to represent the romantic ideals in vogue. We conclude that the images are immanent discourses of a network of discursive practices, allowing a space for social interaction where relationships and processes are established. The image of liberty is built linking conflicting discourses. |

The image of liberty is built linking conflicting discourses.
