Resumo: In this article I deal with the relationship between painting and literature in the posthumous novel La femme assise, by Guillaume Apollinaire. The hypothesis is that the text can be related to visual arts from different perspectives. Since its title, the book evokes the French painting of the time; the characters that populate the novel are composed, much of them, based on artists of the time - and a considerable number of them are the same defended by Apollinaire in his art criticism texts. In addition to these references, and others commented on throughout the text, the book’s composition structure is also analyzed in order to show how much it owes to the painting of the period.

La hipótesis es que el texto puede relacionarse con las artes plásticas desde diferentes perspectivas. Por su título, el libro evoca la pintura francesa de la época; los personajes que figuran en la novela están compuestos, buena parte de ellos, a partir de artistas de la época, y un número considerable de ellos son los mismos que defiende Apollinaire en sus textos de crítica de arte. Además de estas referencias, y otras comentadas a lo largo del texto, también se analiza la estructura compositiva del libro para mostrar cuánto le debe a la pintura de la época.Neste artigo, trato das relações entre pintura e literatura no romance La femme assise, de Guillaume Apollinaire. A hipótese é a de que o texto pode ser relacionado com as artes plásticas sob diversas perspectivas. Desde seu título, o livro evoca a pintura francesa da época; as personagens que figuram no romance são compostas, boa parte delas, com base em artistas da época – e um número considerável deles são os mesmos defendidos por Apollinaire em seus textos de crítica de arte.
