Resumo: | This essay intends, through the description and analysis of three "subversions" (of the codes of 'gallantry', of stories of 'mystery' and of 'prostitution') that are, clearly, subversions of a broader code, that of narrative, understand how James, in the story "Two Gallants", the sixth of Dubliners, also subverts the traditional code of reading, demanding, for his new, modern text, a reading posture that is also new, modern, on the part of the reader. |
