ABSTRACT: The present research aims to investigate and describe the prosodic pattern of the Manxineru (Aruák) variety of the Yine language (Macho-Piro), spoken in Brazil. This variety has 1126 indigenous people living in 12 villages in the Mamoadate Indigenous Land, located in the southwest of the state of Acre, Brazil. Methodologically, experimental-acoustic phonetics and metric theory supported the present work. The theoretical approach used in this research relied mainly on authors such as Nespor and Vogel (1986) and Hayes (1995, 1981), Aikhenvald and Dixon (1999a), Rodrigues (2002) and Aikhenvald (1999a, 1999b). For typological questions, we follow Aikhenvald (1999a), Rodrigues (2002), Aikhenvald and Dixon (1999a) and Ramirez (2001). For analysis and reflection on prosodic questions: Pierrehumbert (1980), Ladd (1996), Hayes (1981, 1995) and Selkirk (1978, 1984, 1995). Regarding studies on Yine, authors such as Matteson (1965), Lin (1997) and Couto (2016, 2017). For specific questions and investigation of experimental acoustic phonetics, authors such as Ladefoged (1975, 1995, 2001), Ladefoged and Maddieson (1996), Kent and Read (2015), Stevens (1998), Barbosa and Madureira (2015). The results obtained through acoustic evidence show that the intonational contour of Manxineru has a structure with great integration between the constituent elements of the sentences in the hierarchical formation in the language, with special attention to the accent pattern, negation, interrogation and terms in focus.
