Resumo: Abstract: This article aims at examining the cinematographic techniques in the novel Man’s Fate (1933) by André Malraux. We will begin by discussing the connections between literature and cinema and then analysing how its fictional style verbally recreates procedures from contemporary films to the author. The parameters taken into account, decoupage and mise en scène, refer to, respectively, the fragmented agency of points of view and strategies concerning scene lightning. As a result of those procedures, Malraux builds a work of undeniable visual beauty, mindful of the aesthetics novelties suggested by the most popular narrative art of the twentieth century.

Partimos de uma discussão sobre os vínculos entre literatura e cinema para, em seguida, analisar como o estilo ficcional recria verbalmente procedimentos dos filmes contemporâneos ao autor. Os parâmetros levados em conta, decupagem e mise en scène, referem-se, respectivamente, ao agenciamento fragmentário dos pontos de vista e às estratégias de iluminação dos cenários. Por meio desses procedimentos, Malraux constrói uma obra de inequívoca riqueza visual, atenta às novidades estéticas propostas pela arte narrativa mais popular do século XX. Resumen: El artículo trata de examinar las técnicas cinematográficas presentes en la novela La Condición Humana (1933), de André Malraux. Se establece un acercamiento entre la literatura y el cine para enseguida analizar cómo el estilo ficticio verbalmente recrea procedimientos similares a películas contemporáneas al autor. Los parámetros abarcados, decoupage e mise en scène, aluden, respectivamente, al agenciamiento fragmentario de los puntos de vista y las estrategias de iluminación de los escenarios.
