The LDC territorialization strategies in agrarian reform settlements in Rio Brilhante (MS): elements for understanding the MST fighting paradigmatic resistance

The Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) created in the 1980s is an important movement to fight against the advance of capitalism in the Brazilian field and, in the case of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, it stands as a defining element of resistance both in the material as immaterial-paradigmatic. Specifically, in Rio Brilhante, the struggle of the MST is against the advance of the foreignization of lands in its territories by means of the French group Louis Dreyfus Commodities that produces sugar cane in its surroundings. Given this, the present study seeks to analyze how the process of paradigmatic resistance to the non-territorialization of this group occurred in the settlements, as well as the strategies used with the intention of territorializing. This claim was based on the co-option of part of the settlers who were not leaders, presenting values of leases/productivity/profitability and job offer. In the immaterial sphere, the MST contrasted these ideas with meetings showing facts of capitalism in its territories. In other words, through paradigmatic resistance in the field of ideas, they managed to materialize the conquest of this struggle.
