Resumo: The coastal space consists of a highly dynamic environment that is in constant changes, due to both natural factors and anthropogenic agents. Furthermore, erosion constitutes a natural process of evolution that makes up the dynamics geomorphology of the coastal area, shaping features such as cliffs. However, this phenomenon has been intensified due to the occupation and advancement of urbanization on the coast and, in as a result, it has generated major impacts on the coastal (eco)system, the population and the activities developed in these areas. With this in mind, the aim of this research is analyze, through bibliometric survey, the growth of discussions, in international scientific and academic community, about erosion processes in areas of seacliffs. As result, it is possible to highlight the growing curve of works published since 1993 to 2023, which reverberates the importance of studies on these processes which have repercussions on the dynamics of the coastal space and in the population, triggering disturbances and constituting hazard areas.

Sabiendo esto, la erosión constituye un proceso natural de evolución que conforma la dinámica geomorfológica de la zona costera, configurando elementos como los acantilados. Sin embargo, este fenómeno se ha intensificado debido a la ocupación y avance de la urbanización en la costa y, como resultado, ha generado importantes impactos sobre el (eco)sistema costero, la población y las actividades realizadas en estas áreas. Teniendo esto en cuenta, el objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar, a través de un estudio bibliométrico, el crecimiento de las discusiones, en la comunidad científica y académica internacional, sobre los procesos de erosión en zonas de acantilados. Esto permitió resaltar la curva creciente de trabajos publicados de 1993 a 2023, lo que refleja la importancia de los estudios sobre estos procesos que, ante estos cambios, impactan en la dinámica del espacio costero y la población, desencadenando trastornos y constituyendo zonas de riesgo.O espaço costeiro consiste em um ambiente altamente dinâmico que se encontra em constantes mudanças, em função tanto de fatores naturais como agentes antrópicos. Sabendo disso, a erosão constitui um processo natural de evolução que compõe a dinâmica geomorfológica da zona costeira, moldando feições como as falésias. Contudo, tal fenômeno tem sido intensificado em função da ocupação e avanço da urbanização no litoral e, em consequência disso, tem gerado grandes impactos sobre o (ecos)sistema costeiro, a população e as atividades desenvolvidas nessas áreas. Tendo isso em vista, o intuito dessa pesquisa foi analisar, através do levantamento bibliométrico, o crescimento das discussões, na comunidade científica e acadêmica internacional, acerca dos processos erosivos em áreas de falésias.
