Morphometry of the drainage network of the Iguatemi Planning and Management Unit, Mato Grosso do Sul/Brazil

Resumo: | Analysing a drainage net through a morphometric method (at its linear and areal scopes) is relevant to Geomorphology because it allows the comprehension of own drainage scope (drainage is a main factor of formation at relief design). Thus, this research aims to realize a morphometric analysis of the Unity of Management and Planning of Iguatemi River, which is geographically located at the south sector of Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil (a region that has few studies about this matter). We have used the method of Christofoletti (1980), an analysis that entangles a wide range of morphometric parameters to understand the configuration and the spatialization of the drainage net. The results have showing a study area with a strong tectonic control (even the format of its main river, Iguatemi, confirms that affirmation). There was quantified 5,557 water channels that are linked with a ninth-order river. These statistics are showing a study area with a good quantity of water channels, specially at its south sector (a more dissected sector with a high number of short Horton's first-order streams) with an also short superficial runoff track of only 410 metres at its average. Because of the regional agriculture expansion process, this technical information is relevant to the public and private sectors and local society, and these information aims to preserve the water, that is the most important richness that this area has. |

Por lo tanto, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo un análisis morfométrico de la red de drenaje UPG Iguatemi, ubicada en la región sur de Mato Grosso do Sul, una región que carece de estudios insertados en el marco ambiental. Como método de análisis, se utilizó Christofoletti (1980), mediante varios parámetros morfométricos para comprender el comportamiento del drenaje y la espacialización. Los resultados mostraron un UPG con un fuerte control tectónico en el que la forma de su fuente principal prueba este problema, y además, hay un total de 5,557 segmentos de drenaje a lo largo de las nueve orillas del río Iguatemi. Esto muestra un área con una gran cantidad de drenaje, principalmente debido a su región sur más disecada, con canales poco profundos de primer orden, pero en grandes cantidades, lo que se refleja en una escorrentía superficial de 410 metros. Dada la expansión agrícola en el área, dicha información es útil para la sociedad pública, privada y local, a fin de preservar la mayor riqueza que tienen los territorios, el agua.Interpretar os padrões de drenagem por meio de sua análise linear e areal permite a compreensão de um dos preceitos básicos da Geomorfologia, visto que a drenagem é um dos agentes na esculturação do relevo. Logo, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo uma análise morfométrica da rede de drenagem da UPG Iguatemi, localizada na região sul do Mato Grosso do Sul, uma região que carece de estudos inseridos no arcabouço ambiental. Como método de análise, utilizou-se Christofoletti (1980), por meio de diversos parâmetros morfométricos para se entender o comportamento e espacialização da drenagem. Os resultados apontaram uma UPG com forte controle tectônico em que o formato de seu manancial principal comprova tal questão, somado a isso, há um total de 5.557 segmentos de drenagem ao longo das nove ordens do rio Iguatemi. Isso mostra uma área com grande quantidade de drenagens devido, principalmente, à sua região sul, mais dissecada, com canais de primeira ordem pouco extensos, mas em grandes quantidades, o que refletiu em um percurso superficial do runoff em 410 metros.
