Environmental zoning of the Mimoso river watershed, Bonito/MS: the contributions of landscape cartography and geosystemic optics

Resumo: The landscape studies under a systemic, integrated and geo-ecological perspective are fundamental to achieve the environmental zoning because they allow to compartmentalize the area in geosystemic units and provide proposals in view of its fragilities, potentialities and functionalities. Therefore, the research adopted the Mimoso River watershed, located in the municipality of Bonito/MS, as a study area to elaborate an environmental zoning in order to provide support for a physical-territorial planning. To this end, techniques and tools linked to the Geographic Information Systems ArcGis 10® and Spring 5.2.6 were used, as well as field trips to analyze the surface water and verify the data with the terrestrial reality. It is noted that this basin is linked to the karstic environment, with translucent waters and marked farming. Even though it presents preserved vegetation areas, it is a basin that has been suffering under constant pressure on the water resources, and thus, the environmental zoning made it possible to identify extensive areas in need of recovery due to legal and environmental incongruities. In the conclusion, proposals were elaborated for a land use planning, reducing the environmental problems of the basin.

In the conclusion, proposals were elaborated for a land use planning, reducing the environmental problems of the basin.Los estudios de paisaje bajo un punto de vista sistémico, integrado y geoecológico son fundamentales para lograr la zonificación ambiental porque permiten compartimentar el área en unidades geosistémicas y proponer propuestas en vista de sus fragilidades, potencialidades y funcionalidades. Por lo tanto, la investigación adoptó la Cuenca Hidrográfica del Río Mimoso, ubicada en el municipio de Bonito/MS, como área de estudio para elaborar una zonificación ambiental con el fin de ofrecer apoyo a una planificación físico-territorial. Para ello, se utilizaron técnicas y herramientas vinculadas a los Sistemas de Información Geográfica ArcGis 10® y Spring 5.2.6, así como salidas de campo para el análisis de las aguas superficiales y la verificación de los datos con la realidad terrestre. Se observa que esta cuenca está vinculada al medio kárstico, con aguas translúcidas y una marcada agricultura. A pesar de presentar áreas de vegetación preservadas, es una cuenca que viene sufriendo constantes presiones sobre los recursos hídricos, por lo que la zonificación ambiental permitió identificar extensas áreas que necesitan ser recuperadas debido a incongruencias legales y ambientales. En la conclusión, se elaboraron propuestas para una (re)ordenación del territorio, reduciendo los problemas ambientales de la cuenca.Os estudos sobre a paisagem, sob o viés sistêmico, integrado e geoecológico é fundamental para alcançar o zoneamento ambiental, pois permitem compartimentar a área em unidades geossistêmicas, e propiciar propostas diante de suas fragilidades, potencialidades e funcionalidades. Logo, a pesquisa adotou a Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Mimoso, localizada no município de Bonito/MS, como área de estudo para elaborar um zoneamento ambiental, a fim de oferecer suporte para um ordenamento físico-territorial. Para tanto, foram utilizadas técnicas e ferramentas ligadas ao Sistemas de Informação Geografica ArcGis 10® e Spring 5.2.6, bem como saídas de campo para análise das águas superficiais e verificação dos dados com a realidade terrestre. Nota-se que essa bacia é ligada ao ambiente cárstico, com águas translúcidas e agropecuária marcante. Mesmo que apresente áreas de vegetação preservada, é uma bacia que vem padecendo sob constantes pressões sobre os recursos hídricos, e com isso, o zoneamento ambiental possibilitou identificar extensas áreas com necessidades de recuperação devido à incongruências legais e ambientais.
