Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the variation in surface temperature (ST) in the area of Emas National Park (ENP) and its buffer zone (BZ), a savanna conservation unit that is surrounded by agricultural activities that distort its functionality. For this, images from the Landsat8 platform from January 2019 to December 2020 and the Geographic Information System ArcGIS 10.1® were used, where the ST was calculated following the procedures described in the SEBAL algorithm (BASTIAANSEN, 1995; ALLEN et al. 2002). Agricultural expansion in the BZ results in different ST ranges, with non-vegetated areas having average temperatures of 32.2ºC, followed by pasture areas (31.7ºC), grains (30.8ºC), among other crop areas (30.6ºC). Areas with Savanna’s types presented milder ST: 27.5ºC in forest formations, 28.8ºC in savannas and 30.8ºC in grasslands. This demonstrates that the low percentage of conserved areas and the little connectivity between the fragments raises the average temperatures in the ZA and potentiates impacts on biodiversity such as the increase in edge effects, the isolation of the conservation unit and the risk of fires in periods of drought. Keywords: Conservation Unit. Surface Temperature. Land Use and Vegetation Coverage. Remote sensing.

Keywords: Conservation Unit. Surface Temperature. Land Use and Vegetation Coverage. Remote sensing.
