Resumo: | We present here the translation of the anonymous text Life of Aeschylus, found in the medieval manuscripts that transmitted the surviving works of Aeschylus. Fruit of a collage of diverse sources like Aristophanes and Aeschylus’ own tragedies, Life of Aeschylus contributes not only to reinforce some stereotypes of Aeschylus’sdramaturgy, but also to provide information on the playwright and its historical and performative contexts. |
