University extension programs and the educational formation: a rich interchange of knowledge between school and university

Resumo: The objective of this paper is to discuss the importance of universities’ extension programs and its contribution to educational formation. We seek to demonstrate in which ways how extension promotes possibilities for teachers in training to stay in touch with the school environment, as it approachs the university and the community and provide transformative experiences for everyone involved in the process. In order to prove these results, we will present some of the activities performed by the classical studies extension program “Contos de Mitologia”, in FALE/UFJF.
