Resumo: This article analyzes a case of violation of the rights of the Shuar, a nationality that lives in the southern Amazon of Ecuador, where a large-scale mining development project is implemented, called Mirador, located in the Cordillera del Cóndor, located in a wide area Boscosa, in charge of the company Ecuacorrientes SA ECSA. In 2014, the death of the Shuar leader José Isidro Tendetza was related to one of the moments of highest conflict between the Shuar and ECSA. Tendetza disappeared on November 28 and was found dead floating in the Quiim River on December 2 of the same year. His death was linked to the process of struggle for human rights, nature and the resistance against mining extractive activity; However, the causes of death are related to conflicts of longer duration, such as territorial conflicts, and which implies that many of the Shuar family groups do not have title to their territories despite the fact that they maintain collective rights over them.

ECSA,.
