Women with cancer and the practice of phisical activity

Resumo: Being in the actuality one of the enfermities more present in the population, nowadays cancer in the second reason of death cases in Brazil. In other hand, physical activities have been pointed as one of the actions that is related , in a positive way, to this pathology, acting since the prevention, or lower probability to this illness, or even bringing benefits to people who already have the enfermity. This study aims to verify the relation of the patients with cancer with the physical activity. Method: it was done a descriptive study with the application of questionnaires to 39 women with cancer at the city of Juiz de Fora. Results: It was verified that only 28% did any kind of regular physical activity at any period of their lives. And after the cancer illness, only 5% percent of the women interviewed kept with the physical activity. On the reasons of the physical inactivity, 52% of the interviewees told lack of time, 22% said that they don't practice physical activity for they live in the rural area and 26% presented other reasons. We concluded that there are the popularization need and incentive of the physical activity as a middle of prevention of diseases and the implantation of programs capable of assist the people's specificities attacked by cancer.Keywords: Motor Activity. Women's Health. NeoplasmsSituando-se na presente realidade como uma das doenças que mais acometem a população, atualmente o câncer (CA) é a segunda maior causa de morte no Brasil. Por outro lado, a atividade física tem sido apontada como uma das ações que se relacionam, de maneira positiva, a essa patologia, atuando desde a prevenção, ou menor suscetibilidade a tal doença, até sua atuação benéfica nos indivíduos já acometidos por ela. Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar a relação de pacientes acometidas pelo CA com a prática de atividade física. Método: A pesquisa seguiu critérios descritivos, foram aplicados questionários à 39 mulheres da cidade de Juiz de Fora já acometidas pelo câncer. Resultados: Verificou-se que apenas 28% das entrevistadas fizeram algum tipo de atividade física regular em algum momento de suas vidas. E, após o acometimento pelo CA, apenas 5% destas continuaram a exercitar-se. Sobre os motivos da inatividade física, 52% das entrevistadas relataram falta de tempo, 22% disseram que não praticam atividade física por residirem na zona rural e 26% apresentaram outros motivos.
