Resumo: Introduction: Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health (ICPs) are the present and the future within the Unified Health System, especially in Primary Care. In addition, it is a modality that invests in prevention and health promotion, thus avoiding or minimizing the patient's illness. Objective: This study evaluates the offer of the content of Integrative and Complementary Practices in the subjects of the Dentistry courses of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Southeast Brazil. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out using the curricula of the courses, seeking information regarding the variables: administrative category of the HEIs (public or private); course offering; nature of the curricular component (compulsory or optional); teaching methodology (theoretical or theoretical-practical) and total workload. Results: The research sample consisted of 180 HEIs, 10 located in the state of Espírito Santo, 71 in Minas Gerais, 25 in Rio de Janeiro and 74 in São Paulo. Regarding the administrative category of HEIs, 13.9% are public and 86.1% are private. Only 11.1% of the HEIs offer the discipline of ICPs in the Dentistry course. When present, the discipline is predominantly optional and as for the teaching methodology, the only theoretical focus is highlighted. There is a statistically significant difference (p<0.001) between the offer of the discipline and the administrative category of the institutions. The average of the workloads presented the value of 46.3 (±10.6) hours, with no significant difference between the workloads evaluated according to the administrative nature. Still, homeopathy was the most frequently identified ICP in the curricular matrices. Conclusion: Most HEIs in Southeast Brazil do not offer any discipline that addresses ICPs, both in general and in a specific nature, and when offered, the discipline tends to be optional and theoretical.
