Resumo: The purpose of this study is to investigate a relationship between the character Cassandra, as constructed in Lycophron’s poem Alexandra and Euripides’ play The Trojan Women, and the concept of the sublime as it appears in Longinus’ work On the sublime and as developed later by Edmund Burke in A philosophical inquiry into the origin of our ideas of the sublime and the beautiful.
