Resumo: This study aimed to detect the influence of shading on the production of Psidium cattleianum Sab., seedlings. After the transplant, the seedlings remaining for 120 days under the shading intensities 30%, 50% e 70%, and full sunlight in the nursery. Leaf area, height, caller diameter, dry matter weight of roots and aerial and survival rate were evaluated. The specie showed larger biomass accumulation (6,15g - p>0, 05) in the full sunlight. The 50%of shading had most leaf area (41.594, 88mm²-p>0, 05), in opposition to the 70% of shading that presented the smallest average for this variable (22.156, 25 mm²), even presenting larger average in height (17,74cm - p>0, 05). It was concluded o that at the 50% of shading, the plant shows a physiological adaptation of Psidium cattleianum to the environment shadow.
