Resumo: Brazil is a great participant in the international market of forest products, occupying the fifth position in terms of value. In spite of having exported more than eight billion dollars in 2007, the country still faces significant tariffary barriers.  This study presented and discussed the tariffs that are in force at the international market, to the forest products exported by Brazil. The analysis of tariffs for 180 countries showed average values of 11% for wood and wood products and of 3.76% for wood pulp and fibrous cellulosic material. The applied tariffs to the forest products are not very high, if compared to tariffs of other sections of the economy, but if reduced they could increase exporting forest sector income significantly, since they are applied exactly on those products of larger export demand.
