Resumo: Inbred and outbred Eucalyptus clone were assessed aiming to check the possible loss of vigor in the initial germination phases and growing in nursery and in t field conditions. Offsprings from two commercial clones were assessed as inbreds (C01 and C02) and as hybrids (C01 x C03 and C02 x C03). The work consisted of two phases. The first one was in the nursery, in a completely random design, with 4 treatments and 6 reps, in plots with 30 tubes with only one seed. The second one, in the field, used a randomized complete block design, with 4 treatments and 6 reps, with 18 plants per plots. The percentage of germination, germination speed index, survival and plant height were assessed at 35, 50, 65 and 80 days in the nursery and, in the field, the percentage of survival with 6 months and plant height with 2, 4 and 6 months. It was concluded that the germination, survival and the growing of plants resulted from inbred were similar to the hybrid, showing that the loss of vigor is not expressive for those characters in initial developmental phases of Eucalyptus spp.

Para isso, avaliaram-se descendentes de dois clones comerciais autofecundados (C01 e C02) e dois híbridos (C01 x C03 e C02 x C03). O trabalho constou de duas fases de avaliação: a primeira, conduzida em viveiro, cujo delineamento experimental foi inteiramente ao acaso, constou de quatro tratamentos e seis repetições, parcelas com 30 tubetes com uma única semente; na segunda, no campo, foi utilizado o delineamento em blocos casualizados, com quatro tratamentos e seis repetições, com 18 plantas por parcela. Avaliaram-se a percentagem de germinação, o índice de velocidade de emergência, a sobrevivência e altura das plantas aos 35, 50, 65 e 80 dias no viveiro e, no campo, a percentagem de sobrevivência aos seis meses e a altura aos dois, quatro e seis meses.
