Resumo: | In this work, we will address an essential resource for the existence of any living being, water. The locus of this case refers to Cambuquira, a municipality located in a region known as Circuito das Águas (Water Circuit) in the southern region of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This region is known for its diversity of mineral water sources and the NGO Nova Cambuquira is present. The NGO was created in 2001 by a group of people who recognize mineral water as a common good and therefore argue that water should be managed in a sustainable way. Our focus in this case will be to narrate the experience of applying EPRD to this organization. This paper aims to present a case report in the area of natural resource management and its conflicts based on a method of analyzing a given reality through dialogue. In addition, it is also the objective of this study to describe the Emancipatory Participatory Rapid Diagnosis (EPRD) as a method that promotes social participation and its emancipation aiming at solving problems. According to the theoretical basis and the EPRD objective, the participants of the NGO Nova Cambuquira questioned the management of mineral water, identified the organization’s limitations and potential, proposed and carried out actions in favor of sustainable management of mineral water in the municipality of Cambuquira. |
