Resumo: The use of Information Systems (IS) have been growing remarkably. The computers’ processing is getting more powerful continuously, bringing the possibility of using these computers for more complex tasks. Having this, private and public institutions have been investing in IS for processes optimization and strategic tool. In these institutions, it is common to find a scenario having many information systems, in which the integration for sharing data and information is essential, and simultaneously, challenging. The Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) had, till 2011, 24 information systems, with different features. In addition, in 2013 a software family started being deployed, increasing even more the systems integration’s complexity in the University. In this work, through a case study, it is presented and analyzed the evolution of the systems integration in the UFLA’s context, contributing to other institutions that are in similar situation.

O poder de processamento dos computadores vem aumentando cada vez mais, possibilitando sua utilização para tarefas mais complexas. Com isso, instituições públicas e privadas têm investido em SI para otimização de processos e como ferramenta estratégica. Nestas instituições, é comum encontrar um cenário com diversos sistemas de informação, no qual a integração entre os sistemas para compartilhamento dos dados e informações é essencial e, ao mesmo tempo, desafiador. A Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) possuía, até 2011, 24 sistemas de informação, com diferentes características. Além destes, em 2013 uma família de softwares passou a ser implantada, aumentando ainda mais a complexidade da integração de sistemas na Universidade.
