Oito híbridos de milho de diferentes características agronômicas foram utilizados para realização dos experimentos. Foram conduzidos dois experimentos com semeadura em 11/11/2007 e 12/12/2007 sob sistema convencional de cultivo. As oito cultivares de milho foram colhidas em três estádios de maturação dos grãos, meia linha de leite (½ LL), três quartos da linha de leite (¾ LL) e camada negra (CN). Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial oito (híbridos) x três épocas de corte (½ LL,¾ LL e CN) com três repetições. Uma análise de variância individual foi realizada para cada experimento. Posteriormente foi realizada uma análise de variância conjunta envolvendo as duas épocas de semeadura. No primeiro trabalho objetivou-se caracterizar quantitativamente e qualitativamente os componentes vegetativos (colmo, folha, palha, sabugo), reprodutivos (grãos) e a forragem da planta inteira de oito híbridos colhidos em três épocas de corte e semeados em duas épocas. Constatou-se que o atraso da semeadura reduz significativamente a produtividade de matéria seca da planta inteira, porém não diminuiu a sua degradabilidade. A maior produtividade de matéria seca obtida foi de grãos, seguido de colmo, folha, palha e sabugo. Os componentes vegetativos como as folhas e palhas perdem qualidade com o atraso da semeadura. A folha é o componente vegetativo de melhor qualidade, enquanto o sabugo é o de pior. O atraso da semeadura aumenta a FDN de colmo, palha e sabugo. No segundo trabalho objetivou-se avaliar a influência das características qualitativas dos componentes da planta de milho na qualidade da forragem de híbridos de alta e baixa degradabilidade da matéria seca da forragem e verificar a correlação existente entre essas características. Neste trabalho ficou evidente a importância da qualidade dos componentes vegetativos, pois o grupo de melhor qualidade da forragem apresentou qualidade superior em todos os componentes estudados. A degradabilidade dos componentes vegetativos tem correlação maior com a degradabilidade da matéria seca da planta inteira do que a degradabilidade e densidade de grão. O avanço na maturidade afeta a DEG, FDN e FDN degradável da planta inteira e seus componentes, exceto para FDN degradável de colmo.This work was accomplished in the agricultural harvest 2007/2008 at Lavras, at the Federal University of Lavras, seeking to obtain information on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the components of the corn plant. Eight hybrid of corn of different agronomic characteristics they were used for accomplishment of the experiments. Two experiments were driven with sowing accomplished in 11/11/2007 and 12/12/2007 under conventional system of cultivation. The eight cultivate of corn were harvested at three maturity stages of the grains, half of milk line (½ LL), three quarters of the milk line (¾ LL) and black layer (CN) The experimental design was a randomized block, with three replicates, in an 8 x 3 factorial scheme, being evaluated eight hybrids and three maturity stages. An individual variance analysis was accomplished for each experiment. Later an united variance analysis was accomplished involving the two sowing times. The first objective of this work was to characterize quantitatively and quality the vegetative components (stalk, leaf, straw and cob) and reproductive (grains) of eight hybrid of corn harvested in three cut times and sowed in two times. It was verified that the delay of the sowing reduces the productivity of the dry matter of the whole plant significantly. The largest productivity of obtained dry matter was of grains, following by stalk, leafs, straw and cob.The delay of the sowing didn't reduce the degradability (DEG) of the dry matter of the whole plant, however it reduced DEG of leaves and straw. The leaf is the vegetative component of better quality, while cob is it of worse. The delay of the sowing increases the fiber in neutral detergent (FDN) of stalk, straw and cob. The stalk and leaf presented values similar of FDN, however the quality of FDN of the leaf is high. The quality of FDN of the leaf decreases with the delay of the sowing. The second aim at of this work was to evaluate the correlation and influence of the qualitative characteristics of the components of the corn plant in the quality of the forage of hybrids of high and low degradability of the matter dry of the whole plant.. It was ended that the The quality of the vegetative components influences significantly the quality of the forage. The degradability (DEG) of the vegetative components has larger correlation with the degradability of the matter dry of the whole plant than the degradability and grain density. The progress in the maturity affects degradability (DEG), fiber in neutral detergent (FDN) and fiber in neutral detergent degradability (FDND) of the whole plant and their components, except for fiber in detergent neutral degradability of stalk.
