Resumo: Mining is essential for everyday life. Through its processing, essential products are generated for various industrial sectors, as well as being extremely important in the growth and economic development of several countries. On the other hand, many negative social and environmental impacts are generated. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to carry out a survey of the socioenvironmental perception of postgraduate students regarding the benefits, damages and risks faced by a community where mineral extraction is carried out. A bibliographic review based on the art study was adopted as a methodology, selecting the main topics to be approached and the application of a semistructured questionnaire to the graduate students. It was concluded that the interviewees have knowledge about the issues addressed, but the application of this knowledge is little used in the resolution of socio-environmental conflicts and the mitigation of the liabilities generated.

Através de seu beneficiamento são gerados produtos essenciais para diversos setores industriais, além de ser extremamente importante no crescimento e desenvolvimento econômico de diversos países. Em contrapartida, são gerados inúmeros impactos socioambientais negativos. Portanto, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo principal realizar um levantamento da percepção socioambiental de alunos de pós-graduação referente aos benefícios, malefícios e riscos enfrentados por uma comunidade onde é realizado o extrativismo mineral. Adotou-se como metodologia uma revisão bibliográfica baseada no estudo da arte, selecionando os principais tópicos a serem abordados e a aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado aos pós-graduandos.
