Resumo: This work aims to present an overview of the role that new information technologies and telecommunications has had on today's society. This study demonstrates the importance of the democratization of information and knowledge today as a form of social socialization of individuals. Explains a brief history of the rise of the Internet. Focuses on the real need to include digitally disadvantaged sections of society, assuming that the information technology and telecommunications represent excellent tools for digital inclusion by providing each citizen an environment of individual growth and especially collective, can help overcome the condition excluded and social selectivity that are inserted.

Este estudo demonstra a importância da democratização da informação e conhecimento na atualidade social como forma de socialização dos indivíduos. Explana um breve histórico do surgimento da Internet.
