Resumo: International trade presents itself as an important form of internationalization of production that influences the growing movement towards regional integration, occurred mainly from the 80s. In the same way that trade relations between countries can boost regional integration, trade disagreements between them can negatively impact this process. This study aimed to analyze trade disputes between Brazil and Argentina triggered through the WTO; these disputes relate to the Dispute Settlement System of Mercosur when driven simultaneously, and verify the impact on Mercosur. Three cases were collected through literature: In the textile sector, agribusiness and petrochemicals. The research concluded that trade disputes between Brazil and Argentina were influenced by private companies that felt in disadvantage towards the bilateral trade agreements. However, for a dispute to be internationally conducted, there is agreement by the national government is there some kind of violation in the international trade law. These situations tend to generate political consequences, usually negative, between the complainant and the respondent country that affect the process of regional integration.

Da mesma forma que as relações comerciais entre países podem impulsionar a integração regional, as divergências comerciais entre eles podem impactar negativamente este processo. O presente trabalho objetivou analisar as divergências comerciais entre Brasil e Argentina acionadas via OMC; relacionar estas disputas com o Sistema de Solução de Controvérsias do MERCOSUL quando acionadas simultaneamente; e verificar os impactos no MERCOSUL. Foram levantados três casos por meio de levantamento bibliográfico: No setor têxtil, agronegócio e petroquímico. Concluiu-se que as disputas comerciais entre Brasil e Argentina ocorreram pela influência de empresas privadas ao se sentirem prejudicadas de alguma forma frente aos tratados de integração comercial. Porém, para uma controvérsia ser conduzida a instâncias internacionais, existe uma concordância do governo nacional de que está havendo algum tipo de violação ao direito comercial internacional.
