Resumo: The aim of this article, the future life, emerges as one of the consequences of the criticism made about the thesis of the unity of the intellect, which seems to limit the possibility of a transcendent existence to death, since it removes from the soul what could be more strongly demarcated as your principle of subsistance, the intellect. That situation made this thesis dangerous to christians, because it contradicts what the Christian faith proposes. However, it is necessary to emphasize that the future-life is one of the fundamental dogmas of Islam, and some of Averroes’s original works, in which he discusses questions related to its politicalreligious context, have chapters dedicated to the subjects concerning future life, as the attribution of prizes and punishments to men according to their earthly actions, and the discussion about the resurrection of bodies. Analyzing such passages, that will certainly serve us to point out distinct elements of the picture that was drawn in his critique, above all those regarding the possibility of an individual transcendence for men as a future life.

Tal situação tornou esta tese perigosa para cristãos, pois contraria o que a fé cristã propõe. No entanto, é necessário ressaltar que a vida futura é um dos dogmas fundamentais do Islã, e algumas de suas obras originais, nas quais Averróis debate questões relativas a seu contexto político-religioso, possuem capítulos dedicados a tratar de temas relacionados a vida futura, como a atribuição dos prêmios e das punições aos homens a partir de suas ações terrenas, e a discussão sobre a ressurreição dos corpos.
