A reconstrução do sentido por meio do discurso relatado

Resumo: This paper seeks to approach the effects of meaning from the speech reported in the journalistic discourse. The analysis is informed by the theoretical framework of the Discourse Analysis (DA) as well as the analysis of media's coverage regarding the polemic raised by BBC Brazil's release of the interview "It is not racism if a black person becomes insurgent against white," with Minister Matilde Ribeiro, on 27/03/2007. Then, the corpus of this work is primarily based on the abovementioned interview and the news coverage produced by the newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo in the following day. From this analysis, we suggest that the making of news by the re-textualization of interviewee's speech challenges the myth of racial democracy in Brazil; a myth constituent of our discursive formation. Indeed, we maintain that this re-contextualization generates debate and exposes the subjectivity of the journalistic discourse.

Tal propósito é motivado pela leitura de pesquisadores da Análise do Discurso (AD), em paralelo à leitura de jornais, nos quais verificamos a polêmica suscitada pela reportagem produzida pela BBC Brasil, intitulada “Não é racismo se insurgir contra branco”, baseada em uma entrevista concedida pela ministra Matilde Ribeiro, em 27/03/2007. Sendo assim, constituímos o corpus com o referido texto aliado a textos produzidos nos jornais Folha de S. Paulo e O Estado de S. Paulo no dia seguinte a publicação e procedemos com a análise.
