Os textos literários com riqueza de detalhes paisagísticos têm possibilitado análises e críticas através da apreciação de elementos naturais e culturais de seus enredos, bem como da experiência subjetiva dos escritores em relação ao espaço e ao lugar. A presente pesquisa parte de análises da produção literáriado romance Júlia ou A Nova Heloísa do consagrado filósofo Jean- Jacques Rousseau. Publicada no século XVIII, a polêmica obra apresenta-se como um terreno fértil para as questões interdisciplinares que envolvem principalmente a Filosofia e a Literatura. Visa-se pontuar a relação propiciada por estas análises com as teorias da percepção da paisagem presentes nas obras de autores como Yi-Fi Tuan. De modo geral, tem-se como proposta destacar como se configura a paisagem de Clarens pelas mãos da virtuosa senhora de Wolmar no referido romance e de como essa relação possibilita a percepção do imaginário referente à Nova Heloísa.Palavras-chave: Espaço. Clarens.  SPACE, PLACE AND VIRTUE IN ROUSS EAU’S NEW HELOISE: Julie and the landscape of the ClarensABSTRACT:  The literary texts with rich landscape details have enabled analysis and criticism through the appreciation of natural and cultural elements of their plot as well as the subjective experience of writers in relation to space and place. The present research starts from analyzes of the literary production of the novel Julie or The New Heloise of the consecrated philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Published in the eighteenth century, the controversial work appears as a breeding ground for interdisciplinary issues that mainly involve Philosophy and the Literature. It is aimed to point out the relationship provided by these analyzes with the theories of landscape perception present in the works of authors such as Yi-Fi Tuan. In general, it is proposed to highlight how the landscape of Clarens is configured by the virtuous lady of Wolmar in the novel and how this relationship makes possible the perception of the imaginary concerning the New Heloise.Keywords: Space.
