Breves considerações sobre a relevância das imagens morais para a Biotecnologia

O presente estudo consiste na apresentação, análise e considerações críticas acerca do método das imagens morais, apresentado na obra Liberal Eugenics. In Defence of Human Enhacement (2004), de Nicholas Agar. Inicialmente, apresento as ideias, posições e argumentos expostos por Agar nos capítulos iniciais da referida obra. Em seguida, passo a apresentar e considerar, de forma crítica, as ideias, posições e argumentos concernentes ao uso do método das imagens morais para a biotecnologia. Por fim, avalio os alcances e limites da estratégia metodológica de Agar. A fim de subsidiar as considerações críticas sobre a proposta metodológica de Agar, recorro a uma breve literatura secundária sobre os temas da eugenia liberal e do aprimoramento humano.Palavras-chave: Eugenia liberal. In Defense of Human Enhacement (2004), by Nicholas Agar. Initially, I present the ideas, positions and arguments exposed by Agar in the initial chapters of the book. Second, I will present and critically consider the ideas, positions and arguments concerning the use of the method of moral images for biotechnology. Finally, I evaluate the scope and limits of the methodological strategy of Agar. In order to subsidize the critical considerations about the methodological proposal of Agar, I turn to a brief secondary literature on the themes of liberal eugenics and human enhancement. Keywords: Liberal eugenics.
