As relações comerciais entre o Brasil e a China de 2008-2018

This research has as main theme the commercial transactions established between Brazil and China, in the light of international relations and theories of international trade, in order to determine the influence of this trade for the Brazilian economy. The time frame is from 2008 to 2018, with emphasis on the 2007-2008 crisis that reconfigures the Brazilian export agenda, with a certain degree of dependence on Brazilian exports in relation to Chinese imports. It is important to mention that in 2008 China went from 57.6% to 37.5% in the Foreign Trade / GDP ratio, while Brazil had a slight increase from 27.3% to 29.4%. From 2008 to 2009, exports suffered a drastic retraction, in the case of Brazil it was 23.2%, going to -22.7%, while China from 17.2% to -16%. In addition, it is possible to highlight that Brazil started to preserve its primary exporting character in relation to China, with soybeans being the main exported product, while China started to import products with higher added value to Brazil, the main ones being boats, dredges, floating cranes and electronic devices. Thus, we can see that the commercial relationship is important for both parties, since China is the main Brazilian commercial partner, while Brazil is configured as an abundant market in raw materials, in the commercial sphere.
