Experiência artística e formação de público: a mediação teatral no Festival Maranhense de Teatro Estudantil

Resumo: This dissertation aims to develop a qualitative and exploratory research, taking as an empirical basis an investigative study process based on the oral history method. The theme to be investigated in this dissertation starts from the Festival Maranhense de Teatro Estudantil (FEMATE), and is characterized as an analysis of the event as a pedagogical proposal, understanding its formative dimension. The choice for the theme is expressed as a proposal for continuity and deepening with a delimited focus, of the investigations carried out during the graduation in Theater Degree at the Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA), resulting in the monograph under the title: Experiences that generate knowledge: reflections of a teacher-artist in the formative process. The social and scientific relevance of this research lies in its contribution to research on theater pedagogy in general, especially as unprecedented research at the state level. The research problem starts from the following questions: What is the contribution of FEMATE to the teaching-learning process in theater? What remains of the substrate for the individuals who went through this festival, in terms of theater as an artistic experience and cultural formation? What perspectives can be extracted from the festival in relation to audience formation? And, above all, what is the real impact of this festival on the practice of theatrical appreciation within the State? These and other questions guide the investigation, not excluding those that may contribute to its construction. The hypotheses raised for this study are: Did FEMATE significantly impact the theatrical mediation process in the city of São Luís – MA? Does FEMATE contribute positively to the formation of theater audiences in the city of São Luís – MA? Does FEMATE effectively contribute to the teaching and learning process of theatrical language in the context of basic education? Does FEMATE establish a dialogic relationship between artistic experience and audience formation for its participants? The research had as study area the Centro de Artes Cênicas do Maranhão (CACEM), a school that promotes the aforementioned festival, as well as the residences of its participants, who were interviewed. These participants are the management of the school promoting the festival, professors-directors, judges and student-actors/student-actresses, divided into two groups – teachers and students – each group having about fifteen members, totaling thirty interviewees.

O tema a ser investigado nesta dissertação parte do Festival Maranhense de Teatro Estudantil (FEMATE), e caracteriza-se como uma análise do evento como proposta pedagógica, compreendendo a sua dimensão formativa. A escolha pelo tema se expressa como uma proposta de continuidade e aprofundamento com enfoque delimitado das investigações realizadas durante a graduação em Licenciatura em Teatro da Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA), resultadas na monografia sob o título: Experiências que geram conhecimento: reflexões de uma professora-artista em processo formativo. A relevância social e científica desta pesquisa encontra-se na sua contribuição para as pesquisas sobre a pedagogia do teatro de maneira geral, sobretudo como pesquisa inédita em âmbito estadual. O problema de pesquisa parte das seguintes indagações: Qual a contribuição do FEMATE para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem em teatro? O que fica/ficou de substrato para os indivíduos que passaram por este festival, no que se refere ao teatro enquanto experiência artística e formação cultural? Quais perspectivas podem-se extrair do festival em relação à formação de público? E, sobretudo, qual o impacto real deste festival na prática da apreciação teatral dentro do Estado? Estas e outras indagações norteiam a pesquisa, não excluindo as que porventura possam contribuir para a construção da mesma. As hipóteses levantadas para esta pesquisa são: O FEMATE impactou de forma relevante no processo de mediação teatral na cidade de São Luís – MA? O FEMATE colabora positivamente para a formação de público de teatro na cidade de São Luís – MA? O FEMATE contribui de maneira efetiva para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem da linguagem teatral no âmbito da educação básica? O FEMATE estabelece uma relação dialógica entre experiência artística e formação de público para os seus participantes? A pesquisa teve como recorte espacial o Centro de Artes Cênicas do Maranhão (CACEM), escola que promove o referido festival, bem como as residências de seus participantes, os quais foram entrevistados por esta pesquisa.
