Resumo: | The Quality of Life is complex and involves many factors, according to the definition of the World Health Organization is the individual's perception about their position in life according to the cultural context and value system with which they coexist and in relation to their objectives , expectations, standards and concerns. The Material and Sterilization Center (CME) is the place to develop the PPS (health products) processing techniques, being entrusted to the nursing service. The CME is an extremely important unit for the operation of a hospital. The objective of the study is to evaluate the quality of life of nursing professionals working in a CME. Exploratory, descriptive study with a quantitative approach on the quality of life of nursing professionals working in a materials and sterilization center. Performed with 82 nursing professionals, who work in the CME of the University Hospital, a reference in procedures of high complexity. Data were collected through a semistructured instrument produced by the researchers themselves to collect socio-demographic data, lifestyle and work characteristics, and the Medical Outcomes Study Short-Form 36 (SF-36) questionnaire to assess quality of life. The data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel 2013® and the statistical analysis of the results was performed in the statistical program SPSS (Version 22), using the Student's T test, for variables of up to two categories, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test, for variables of 3 or more categories. The most affected areas of Quality of Life were Pain, followed by Vitality, General Health Status and Social Aspects. Alcoholism, Physical Activity and Leisure lifestyle variables that most affected the quality of life and the other work related ones that presented the most significant value when related to the Quality of Life Domain were the work shift and weekly workload. It was concluded that important factors of lifestyle and work environment interfere in the quality of life of the CME worker and that a good quality of life for this worker is an indispensable factor, which can result in the final quality of the nursing care provided. Therefore, managers and leaders should aim to make the organizational climate better by expanding work productivity and to support actions that value employees' quality of life. |

Submitted by Daniella Santos (daniella.santos@ufma.br) on 2018-10-29T21:30:49Z No. of bitstreams: 1 GLICCIAMORGUETHEVIEIRAREGO.pdf: 4252707 bytes, checksum: c8dbb1d674f8d547a6d577f84e8a669a (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2018-10-29T21:30:49Z (GMT).
