Violence is understood as a social, complex and multifactorial phenomenon that affects people, families and communities in general, in addition damaging the fundamental right to life, health and human dignity. This study is resolves around gender violence, more precisely violence against female gender, an event that has been recently legalized as a crime because it deals with violent acts exclusively against women. The aim of the research is to analyse practices of gender violence against women in the county of Raposa (MA), from 2017 to 2021, from the perspective of patriachy, supported by the Colonial Matrix of Power. The context of the study focuses on analysing how the international protection of human rights repudiates the practice of violence against women and offers answers for the construction of alternative protection; observing the differences marked by gender issues and their effects on society, as well as analysing the practical theories of human rights and decolonial studies, expressed in gender violence against women; evaluating the data and profile of women victims of domestic violence in the county of Raposa from 2017 to 2021, in order to propose a decolonial and feminist approaches, to assist victims at Centro de Referência Especializado de Assistência Social (CREAS). The research is exploratory and descriptive, first going through a literature survey to theoretically base the study on aspects related to items such as coloniality and decoloniality, human rights and human dignity, gender violence, in their concepts and statistical data in Brazil and in Maranhão. The second part is related to field research carried out in the county of Raposa-MA, in the analysis of cases of gender violence attended and accompanied by the researcher in her professional performance, at the CREAS. In addition to data collected from the medical records of women assisted at the aforementioned center, the study brings the results of a survey carried out with women through the application of questionnaires in which data on the profile of women victims of gender violence in the county of Raposa were collected, and other relevant aspects. It is believed that bringing up this issue can contribute directly and indirectly to improve technical interventions and the quality of services offered to those women and their families, as well as bringing reflections on the need for improvement in the service network and social protection to those families, in addition to bringing greater visibility and the need to demand more consistent public policies, not only from civil society, but also from the direct actions of Ministério Público e Poder Judiciário, which can guarantee stability and security to women for denouncing and maintaining such, since today the safety net is still lacking follow-up for such cases.
