Resumo: A linha de pesquisa em multimodos de representações vem atualmente sendo destacada como instrumento de instrução na educação científica. Partindo dos fundamentos que justificam um encaminhamento didático à luz dos multimodos de representações, este trabalho procura mostrar que há compatibilidade desses fundamentos com a teoria da aprendizagem significativa de Ausubel. Procuramos relacionar conceitos integrantes da Teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa com a linha de multímodos de representação, argumentando também sobre a pertinência existente entre ambas nas situações de ensino-aprendizagem que ocor rem na sala de aula. The multi-modes in representation line research has been highlighted as an instruction instrument in the scientific education. From the concepts that justify a didactic procedure due to the multi-modes of representations, this paper tries to show that there is certain compatibili ty among these concepts with theories of the significant learning of Ausubel. The integrating concepts of Significant Learning Theory were related to the multi-modes line of representation by discussing its impor tance in all teaching-learning situations that occur in the classroom.
