Resumo: This article examines the contribution of Martín Fierro magazine to the consolidation of the artistic field, especially that of the vanguards, in Argentina, during the 1920s. The texts on plastic arts and the reproductions of works in the publication allow us to draw a panorama of the artistic production in the period and to perceive the interpretations and the impact of avant-garde art on the public of Buenos Aires. The aim is to understand how modern art is received by Argentinians, the pedagogical role played by Martín Fierro in teaching the public how to appreciate and understand this art, and his initiatives to promote artists, spaces and institutions.

Los textos sobre artes y las reproducciones de cuadros en Martín Fierro permiten trazar un panorama de la producción artística en el período y percibir las interpretaciones y el impacto del arte de vanguardia en el público de Buenos Aires. Queremos percibir como se da la recepción del arte moderno por lo público argentino, la pedagogía asumida por Martín Fierro de enseñar el público a apreciar y comprender esa arte y también sus iniciativas para promover artistas, espacios e instituciones.O presente artigo examina a contribuição da revista Martín Fierro para a consolidação do campo artístico, especialmente o das vanguardas, na Argentina, durante a década de 1920. Os textos sobre artes plásticas e as reproduções de obras na publicação permitem traçar um panorama da produção artística no período e perceber as interpretações e o impacto da arte de vanguarda no público de Buenos Aires.
