On Anti-Monuments and Feminist Collaboration, an Analysis of Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan

Resumo: This paper analyzes the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan, an anti-monument andspace of art interventions and activism maintained by feminist collectives in MexicoCity since 2021, in the traffic circle that housed a statue of Christopher Columbus,through themes of new genre public art and feminist interventions. As amethodological framework, we will use the reflections of Suzanne Lacy and MaryJane Jacob about new genre public art and feminism, the works of Chantal Mouffeabout dissent in public space, and the notions of anti-monument as a work ofmemory and resistance presented by Márcio Seligmann-Silva. The influence ofcontemporary feminist artists such as Mónica Mayer and Lorena Wolffer on theintervention will also be demonstrated

Como soporte metodológico se utilizan las reflexiones de Suzanne Lacy y Mary Jane Jacob sobre arte público de nuevo género y feminismo, la producción y Chantal Mouffe sobre el disenso en el espacio público y las cuestiones del antimonumento como obra de memoria y resistencia presentadas por Márcio Seligmann-Silva. También se mostrará la influencia de artistas feministas contemporáneas como Mónica Mayer y Lorena Wolffer en la intervención. Este artigo analisa a Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan, antimonumento e espaço de intervenções de arte e ativismo mantido por coletivos feministas na Cidade do México desde 2021 na rotunda que abrigava uma estátua de Cristóvão Colombo, a partir de noções da arte pública de novo gênero e intervenções feministas. Como aporte metodológico são utilizadas a reflexões de Suzanne Lacy e Mary Jane Jacob acerca de arte pública de novo gênero e feminismo, a produção de Chantal Mouffe sobre dissenso no espaço público e questões de antimonumento como trabalho de memória e resistência apresentadas por Márcio Seligmann-Silva. Também será demonstrada a influência de artistas feministas contemporâneas como Mónica Mayer e Lorena Wolffer na intervenção.
