The Invisible as Visible Memory: The Photographic Event and the Fabrication of the Real from Three Brazilian Photographers

Resumo: The present paper proposes to discuss the event in contemporary analogue photography, based on the notion of abstraction in Vilém Flusser and on an analysis of the memories linked to the way photographic apparatuses work. The concepts serve us to look at how the works of Brazilian photographers Claudia Andujar, Eustáquio Neves and Alice Miceli act as unstable, latent archives, constructed as a gesture of abstraction and fabrication of the real.

Le présent article propose de discuter l’événement dans la photographie analogique contemporaine, en se basant sur la notion d’abstraction de Vilém Flusser et sur une analyse des mémoires liées au fonctionnement des appareils photographiques. Ces concepts nous servent à examiner comment les œuvres des photographes brésiliens Claudia Andujar, Eustáquio Neves et Alice Miceli se comportent comme des archives instables et latentes, construites comme un geste d’abstraction et de fabrication du réel. O presente artigo propõe discutir o acontecimento na fotografia analógica contemporânea, a partir da noção de abstração em Vilém Flusser e de uma análise das memórias vinculadas ao modo de funcionamento dos aparatos fotográficos. Os conceitos nos servem para olharmos como as obras dos fotógrafos brasileiros Claudia Andujar, Eustáquio Neves e Alice Miceli atuam como arquivos instáveis, latentes, construídos como um gesto de abstração e fabulação do real.
