Chiron’s view: filmic language in the construction of the relationship between the main character and his mother in the movie Moonlight

Resumo: | This article deals with the way in which the relationship between the characters Paula (played by Naomie Harris) and Chiron (played by Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, and Trevante Rhodes) is built in the movie Moonlight (2016), by Barry Jenkins. The context of the movie's narrative is presented, and sequences are chosen for analysis and for the purpose of comparing the course of the relationship throughout the work. The cinematographic techniques mobilized for the construction of the relationship are objects of analysis, namely: the shot and countershot for dialogues, the close-up, the look at the camera, camera movements and shots. While in the first two chapters the relationship is conflicting, in the last one it is friendly, and reflects on the choices made for the composition of the scenes and the cinematographic techniques mobilized for them. |

Este artículo trata sobre la forma en que se construye la relación entre los personajes Paula (interpretada por Naomie Harris) y Chiron (interpretado por Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, y Trevante Rhodes) en la película Luz de luna (2016), de Barry Jenkins. Se presenta el contexto de la narrativa de la película y se eligen secuencias para el análisis y con el fin de comparar el curso de la relación a lo largo de la obra. Los objetos de análisis son las técnicas cinematográficas movilizadas para la construcción de la relación, a saber: el plano y contraplano para los diálogos, el primer plano, la mirada a la cámara, los movimientos de cámara y los planos. Mientras que en los dos primeros capítulos la relación es conflictiva, en el último es amistosa, y reflexiona sobre las elecciones realizadas para la composición de las escenas y las técnicas cinematográficas movilizadas para ellas. Este artigo trata da maneira como é construída a relação entre os personagens Paula (interpretada por Naomie Harris) e Chiron (interpretado por Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, e Trevante Rhodes) no filme Moonlight – sob a luz do luar(2016), de Barry Jenkins. É apresentado o contexto da narrativa do filme e são escolhidas sequências para análise e para efeito de comparação do desenrolar da relação ao longo da obra. São objetos de análise as técnicas cinematográficas mobilizadas para a construção do relacionamento, a saber: o campo e contracampo para diálogos, o close-up, o olhar para a câmera, movimentos de câmera e planos. Enquanto nos dois primeiros capítulos o relacionamento é conflituoso, no último é amistoso, e reflete nas escolhas feitas para a composição das cenas e nas técnicas cinematográficas para elas mobilizadas.
