The cinema of the enchanted: dialogues between oral and cinematographic narratives in Tefé’s Popular Cinema

Resumo: This article analyzes the process of film production of popular and riverside cinema group called Fogo Consumidor, founded in Tefé (AM), in 2008. The group is independent and produces films based on stories lived by them and told by local narrators, usually their own parents and grandparents. Taking as reference a concept of popular cinema elaborated from Benjamin (1994), Ricoeur (1994), Hall (2003), Santoro (1989) and Wenders (2013), and building categories of analysis from participant observation and interviews conducted between 2017 and 2018, the text infers the main dimensions of the riverside popular cinema that is being born in Tefé. The first author is also a member of the group since 2013, which gave her access to many details but, on the other hand, it was necessary “strange the familiar” (VELHO, 2007).

Este artículo analiza el proceso de producción cinematográfica del grupo de cine popular y ribereño Fogo Consumidor, fundado en Tefé (AM), en 2008. El grupo es independiente y produce películas a partir de las historias que han vivido y contadas por narradores de la región, generalmente sus propios padres y abuelos. Basado en un concepto de cine popular elaborado a partir de Benjamin (1994), Ricoeur (1994), Hall (2003), Santoro (1989) y Wenders (2013), y construyendo categorías de análisis a desde de la observación participante y entrevistas realizadas entre 2017 y 2018, el texto infiere las principales dimensiones del cine popular ribereño que está naciendo en Tefé. La primera autora también es miembro del grupo desde 2012, lo que le dio acceso a muchos detalles, pero, por otro lado, hizo necesario "extrañamiento de lo familiar" (VELHO, 2007). O presente artigo faz uma análise do processo de produção cinematográfica do grupo de cinema popular e ribeirinho chamado Fogo Consumidor, fundado em Tefé (AM), no ano de 2008. O grupo é independente e produz filmes a partir das histórias vividas por eles e contadas por narradores da região, geralmente seus próprios pais e avós. Tendo como referência um conceito de cinema popular elaborado a partir de Benjamin (1994), Ricoeur (1994), Hall (2003), Santoro (1989) e Wenders (2013), e construindo categorias de análise a partir da observação participante e entrevistas realizadas entre 2017 e 2018, o texto infere as principais dimensões do cinema popular ribeirinho que está nascendo em Tefé. A primeira autora também é integrante do grupo desde 2012, o que lhe deu acesso a muitos detalhes, mas, por outro lado, tornou necessário “estranhar o familiar” (VELHO, 2007).
