Resumo: This article opening remarks about the organized periodical press study, produced and disseminated by the two main strands of Lutheranism in Brazil, the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB) and its journal entitled "Sonntagsblatt" and Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil (IELB), which had two largest circulation publications; the newspaper "Kirchemblatt" and the magazine Der Lutheraner. Discussed here, even minimally, the positioning of such strands, and especially of their journals about the German identity between the late nineteenth century until the mid-twentieth century.
