Resumo: This article analyzes the commemorative monument to President Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira installed in the center of the city of Diamantina (MG), built by his supporters in 1958 in honor of his inauguration as President of the Republic. The objective is to problematize this public monument through an approach that highlights the political issues surrounding its construction, as well as the authorship and aesthetics of the work.
